2025 FIFA Club World Cup Teams: Who Has Qualified?
The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is history’s biggest club football event. For the first time, 32 teams from around the world will compete in a month-long tournament, which the United States will host from June 14 to July 13, 2025.
This new format brings together the best clubs from every continent. It’s not just about European giants anymore. Teams from Africa, Asia, North and South America, and Oceania will have a shot at global glory. And yes, one team from the host country also gets a spot.
Let’s break down what this means, how the teams qualified, and who will compete in this once-in-a-lifetime event.
What Is the FIFA Club World Cup 2025?
The 2025 edition will be very different from the old Club World Cup. In the past, only seven teams took part. There will be 32 teams this time, just like the FIFA World Cup. The goal is to bring more global competition to the club level.
FIFA created this new format to allow top-performing clubs to play on a bigger stage. It’s not just a tournament. Over several years, it’s been a test of consistency, quality, and success.
The tournament will run every four years and is set to become one of the most important events in world football.
How Did the Teams Qualify?
Clubs earned their spots by winning major continental tournaments or ranking high in a four-year performance system. Each continent had a fixed number of spots, and only the best teams from those regions made it.
One club from the United States also qualified as the host. That team is Inter Miami, which won the MLS Supporters’ Shield in 2024.
A total of 32 teams made it in. Some won their way. Others qualified through rankings. Together, they make up the strongest field in club football history.
