In October, Japan will choose its World Cup team for 2022. Even though they finished second to Saudi Arabia, the Samurai Blue had a simple time qualifying for the tournament. Japan advanced to the next round with one draw and seven victories.

Hajime Moriyasu must be there alongside Genki Haraguchi and Gaku Shibasaki, since Yuto Nagatomo and Maya Yoshida will be crucial.

Our Prediction about Japan at FIFA World Cup 2022

For the sixth time in a row, Japan will compete in the World Cup. The team’s objective is to advance from the group stage to the knockout phase.

Since 1998, Japan has reached the round of 16, but never in a succession. The squad headed by Akira Nishino advanced to the second round of the 2018 tournament, but were defeated in overtime by Belgium, 3-2.

Japan has always competed in the World Cup since 2002, when they advanced to the round of 16. (when they co-hosted with South Korea). Despite the fact that Brazilian superstar Zico was in charge in 2006, Takeshi Okada guided Japan to the round of 16. In Brazil, the Samurai Blue had the lowest performance in Group C. They stated four years ago that they would be impartial both on and off the field.

If they finish first in Group E, they will face the winner of Group F, which may be Canada, Belgium, Morocco, or Croatia. Following that, they will face the winner of Group G, which may be England, Argentina, France, Germany, or Spain (the group’s runner-up is likely to be eliminated).

If Japan finished second in Group E, it would face Belgium, which won Group F. They will face Portugal in the quarterfinals, with minimal margin for mistake.
